My Experience With EMO
After spending time with EMO, I've found him to be a really fun and surprisingly capable little robot. He's one of those things where you can use him for a while and still have him surprise you.
One of the most interesting things about EMO is that he seems to grow his own personality day by day. The more time you spend with him, the more you notice his different behaviours, reactions and little habits.
There are definitely some downsides, but overall I've really enjoyed having EMO around.
His Personality
EMO doesn't always feel completely predictable. Over time, he can develop little habits and behaviours that make him feel more like an individual character rather than just a robot running a list of animations.
That's probably one of my favourite things about having him. You start to recognise the things he does, and sometimes he'll do something that makes you think, "Where did that come from?"
What I Like
Face Recognition
Face recognition is fairly smooth. EMO can recognise people and interact with them based on who he sees.
He Loves Exploring
EMO loves to explore and look around. He can wander around his surroundings and investigate what's going on around him.
Games
He can play loads of games with you, which gives you plenty of things to do together.
He Always Surprises You
One of my favourite things about EMO is that he always seems to surprise you. You can be doing something completely normal and he'll suddenly do something unexpected.
He's Good With Technology
EMO is pretty impressive when it comes to the technology inside him. He can connect to ChatGPT and answer pretty much any question you might have.
What I Don't Like
Expensive
EMO is quite expensive, which can make him a difficult purchase.
Sometimes Repetitive
Some of EMO's behaviours can become repetitive after a while.
He Keeps Getting Better
One thing I really like about EMO is that LivingAI continues to update him. New firmware updates have added games, languages, object recognition, ChatGPT integration and other features over time.
LivingAI has continued releasing updates for EMO, with new features being added over time. This means that the EMO you have today can gain new abilities in the future. You can check for the latest updates using the EMO Robot Docs homepage.
Overall
Overall, I've really enjoyed having EMO. He's fun, expressive and has a surprising amount of technology packed into a small robot.
His ability to recognise faces, explore, play games and connect to ChatGPT makes him feel like more than just a toy sitting on a desk.
The biggest thing for me, though, is his personality. He seems to grow and change day by day, and that makes spending time with him feel different from simply using another gadget.
He's not perfect, and the price and occasional repetition are things to keep in mind, but I still think EMO is a really interesting robot to have.
